Rugby Vs POP Displays

All the current preparation for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup beginning in September started me thinking about the similarities between one of the biggest sporting events in the world and a huge product launch or a major POP/POS Display promotion.

I suppose it’s partly because a great deal off preparation is needed for both, there are often very important decisions to make, there’s a lot at stake and everybody involved wants to get it right.

Rugby team Coaches and Managers are busy assessing the performance of individual players, their fitness levels, stamina and professional abilities, how to get the very best performance out of them for every game. They’ll be looking to assemble the team that is most likely to deliver the result they want.

Similarly, when preparing for a big event, a key promotion, or a major product launch, Managers have to make choices. They must choose the best materials, those that are most appropriate for the outcome they’re looking for. The equipment must be compatible with the board and the inks and it must be able to run at the right speed whilst still delivering an accurate and consistent performance. – But it must also be able to stay the course and be equally as good at the end as at the beginning.

Experience is important too. The Rugby team coach will want to use his best and most experienced players, but it’s also important to have the newer team members training with the ‘old hands’ so that there is a pool of talent to choose from as and when it’s needed.

Knowing what you’re up against is important. That way the right selection can be made to get the job done right.

A proven strategy with tried and tested methods, the right team members and, all importantly, the right attitude are what consistently deliver.

So, whether you’re preparing for the Rugby world cup or preparing for a product launch – a lot of the same points are equally as important – the right preparation and training are crucial, choosing a compatible team that works well together and having the right attitude – a winning attitude – will mean the difference between success and failure.

In both cases there’s only one chance to make a great impression.

Whichever team you’re supporting in the World Cup, I hope you enjoy the tournament – meanwhile, if you want to ensure your campaign is successful and you’d like to find out how we can help. Please contact us now and we’ll be pleased to hear from you.
